Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan: Salman Khan’s next announced

Salman Khan has announced the title of his next with a short teaser. The film has been titled ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ and the video features him in a long-haired look. He is first seen riding a bike through Ladakh valleys. Then it shows him walking in slow motion accompanied by a mass background score composed by ‘KGF’ fame Ravi Basrur. V Manikandan is the cinematographer.

‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ is touted to be an action-packed entertainer directed by Farhad Samji. There are reports about the film being the remake of Tamil film ‘Veeram’ starring Ajith, but the makers are yet to confirm it. Pooja Hegde will be seen as Salman’s pair in the film. Telugu actor Venkatesh is also there in a prominent role Salman Khan’s own banner is backing the film. The makers are eyeing to release the film by the end of this year.

Manju Warrier goes on a bike trip with Ajith

It is known that Manju Warrier and Ajith are working together in an upcoming film directed by H Vinoth. The two actors have taken a break from the film’s shoot and have gone on a trip to Ladakh with Adventure Riders, a bikers group. Manju took to her social media handle to share photos from their trip. She also thanked Ajith and her fellow bikers for the experience, which was incidentally the first two-wheeler tour in her life.

Manju’s note reads,

Huge thanks to our Super Star Rider Ajith Kumar Sir! Being an avid traveller, I’ve had the opportunity of travelling throusands of miles on four wheelers. This is the first time I’m doing a tour on a two wheeler. Huge thanks to Adventure Riders India for inviting me over to join this wonderful group of passionate bikers. And it was honour to be introduced to Mr. Suprej Venkat of Adventure Riders India by Ajith Sir! Thank you Sir! Lots of love!

Arya’s sci-fi thriller Captain set to hit screens

We had earlier reported about Arya joining hands with his ‘Teddy’ director Shakti Soundar Rajan for a new film titled ‘Captain’. Touted to be a sci-fi thriller, the film is gearing up to hit screens on September 8. It will be presented in Kerala by Riya Shibu Pictures.

‘Captain’ has Arya playing an army officer named Captain Vetriselvan. The film has been planned as an action-packed sci-fi flick on the lines of ‘Predator’. The makers had earlier released a trailer which shows how army officials detect an extraterrestrial creature in, Sector 42, a remote area where no other biological life forms could be found. How the soldiers confront tackle it seems to be the core plot.

‘Captain’ has Malayali actress Aishwarya Lekshmi as the female lead. The film also has veteran actress Simran in an important role. Others in the cast include Harish Uthaman, Thyagarajan, Kavya Shetty and Gokul Anand. D Imman has composed music for this movie, which has cinematography by Yuva.

The film is produced by Arya’s The Show People along with Think Studios.

Trailer of Dulquer Salmaan’s Chup looks terrific

The trailer of Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming Hindi film ‘Chup: The Revenge of an Artist’ has been released. The film has Dulquer as a serial killer who targets film critics and kills them brutally. Veteran actor Sunny Deol essays the role of the investigating officer. Pooja Bhatt, ‘Scam 1992’ fame Shreya Dhanwanthary play other major roles.

From the trailer, ‘Chups’ looks like highly promising. Director known for helming National award winning films like ‘Paa’ and ‘Padman’. This is the first time he is attempting a psychological thriller. He has scripted the film along with Rishi Virmani and Raja Sen. Interestingly, Raja Sen is a popular film critic.

‘Chup’ has Vishal Sinha as the cinematographer now. Amit Trivedi is composing the songs and Aman Pant handles the score. The film is being co-produced by Gauri Shinde, R Balki and Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. It is set to hit screens on September 23.

Tovino Thomas releases new song from Oru Thekkan Thallu Case

As ‘Oru Thekkan Thallu Case’ gears up to hit screens on August 8, the makers have shared a new song online. Tovino Thomas has shared the lyric video of the song titled ‘Pathirayil’. It is composed by Justin Varghese.

‘Oru Thekkan Thallu Case’ stars Biju Menon, Padmapriya, Nimisha Sajayan and Roshan Mathew as the leads. From the earlier released trailer, film seems to be centered around the rift between the characters played by Biju Menon and Roshan Mathew. The trailer had glimpses of some thrilling action scenes.

Debutant Sreejith N is directing ‘Oru Thekkan Thallu Case’. It is an adaptation of GR Indugopan’s popular story ‘Amminipilla Vettu Case’. Rajesh Pinnadan has penned the screenplay. The film has cinematography by veteran Madhu Neelakandan. Manoj Kannoth is the editor and Justin Varghese handles the music department. The film is produced by Mukesh R Mehta and CV Sarathi under the banner of E4 Entertainment.

Saturday Night trailer to be released tomorrow

The trailer of ‘Saturday Night’, the new film from the ‘Kayamkulam Kochunni’ combo of Nivin Pauly and director Rosshan Andrrews, will be out tomorrow at 7 PM. The makers had earlier released a teaser featuring Nivin, Aju Varghese, Siju Wilson and Saiju Kurup as close friends. In the teaser, Siju was seen married to Grace Antony’s character against his wish. It kind of creats a rift in his friendship with the gang. The teaser ends with Nivin Pauly’s character Stanley walking out of the reception in anger. The trailer is expected to give a better understanding the characters and the plot.

‘Saturday Night’ is scripted by Naveen Bhaskar of ‘Anuraga Karikkin Vellam’ fame. According to the makers, it is a beautiful tale of friendship, love, and laughter. The film also stars Saniya Iyappan and Malavika Sreenath of ‘Madhuram’, fame in major roles. It has Aslam K Purayil as the DOP and Jakes Bejoy as the music director. Vinayaka Ajith is producing the film under the banner of Ajith Vinayaka Films.

‘Saturday Night’ is expected to release later this month. The release date is likely to be made soon.

In what comes a disappointment for Malayalam cinema lovers, director Alphonse Puthren has announced that his film ‘Gold’ won’t be hitting screens for Onam. Through a Facebook post, he informed that there’s a delay in post-production works which has caused the postponing. He also apologized to the fans who have been eagerly waiting for the film’s release.

Alphonse has written,

Due to work delay on our side “Gold” will be releasing one week after Onam. Please forgive us for the delay caused. Hoping to compensate this delay through our work when “Gold” releases.

Expectations have been high on ‘Gold’ as the film marks Alphonse’ comeback seven years after the sensational success of ‘Premam’. The film also stars a huge star cast lead by Prithviraj and Nayanthara. Besides Malayalam, ‘Gold’ be releasing in Tamil as well. Subbiah Shanmugham, who has distributed films like ‘Valimai’ and ‘Maanaadu’, is presenting the film in Tamil Nadu. His SSI Production will be releasing it in Tamil and Malayalam. The overseas rights have been acquired by Truth Global Films for a huge price.

Recently on Vinayaka Chathurthi day, the makers of ‘Naane Varuven’ shared a new poster featuring Dhanush and the female lead, Elli AvrRam. The film directed by Selvaraghavan is highly anticipated film among cinephiles. It marks the duo’s reunion after a long gap.

‘Naane Varuven’ touted to be a thriller reportedly has Dhanush in a dual role. It is said that the actor is essaying both the hero and the villain’s role. Selvaraghavan is also acting in the film. It is the first time the two brothers are acting together. Others in the cast include Prabhu, Induja Ravichandran and Yogi Babu.

‘Naane Varuven’ is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu’s V Creations. Music for the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The makers are expected to announce the release date soon.

Manju Warrier’s Ayisha set for October release

Manju Warrier’s upcoming Indo-Arab film ‘Ayisha’ is getting ready for release. The makers have announced that the film will be hitting screens in October. Directed by debutant Aamir Pallikkal, the film, set in the Gulf, will be showcasing a mix of Indo-Arabic cultures. It is set to be released in Malayalam, English, Arabic, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada languages.

‘Ayisha’ has its story written by Ashif Kakkodi, who had earlier scripted ‘Halal Love Story’. ‘Sudani From Nigeria’ director Zakariya is producing ‘Ayisha’. It has editing by Appu N Bhattathiri and cinematography by Vishnu Sharma. Prabhu Deva has choreographed the dance sequences in the film. Jayachandran is the composer.

Manju Warrier meanwhile is busy shooting for her upcoming Tamil film. The film tentatively titled ‘AK 61’ is directed by H Vinoth. Manju is reportedly playing a cop’s role in the film, which is touted to be a heist thriller. In Malayalam, the actress has ‘Vellarikka Pattanam’ coming up next.

Ponniyin Selvan 1 set for grand audio and trailer launch

Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan: 1’ is getting ready for a grand theatrical release on September 30. Ahead of the release, the makers are planning several promotional activities. Its trailer and audio will be launched in a grand manner on September 6 at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Several big names from Indian cinema are expected to attend the event. AR Rahman is also likely to perform live at the show.

Planned as a pan-Indian project, ‘PS 1’ is set to be released in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s historical Tamil novel, which tells the story of early days of Arulmozhi Varman, who later became the Chola emperor, Raja Raja Chola I. Jayam Ravi, Trisha Vikram, Karthi and Aishwarya Rai play the main roles in the film. The cast also includes Vikram Prabhu, Parthiban, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prakash Raj, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Babu Antony, Riyaz Khan, Jayaram, Rahman, Lal and Ashwin Kakumanu.

Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions are jointly backing the project.
