Nivin Pauly’s next with Rosshan Andrrews’ titled Saturday Nights

We had earlier reported about the ‘Kayamkulam Kochunni’ combo of Nivin Pauly and Rosshan Andrrews teaming up for a new film. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the film has been titled as ‘Saturday Nights’. An official announcement is expected soon.

The film, which was shot majorly in Dubai, is scripted by Naveen Bhaskar of ‘Anuraga Karikkin Vellam’ fame. It has Malavika Sreenath as the female lead. She had previously played a brief role in ‘Madhuram’. The cast also includes Siju Wilson, Aju Varghese, Saiju Kurup, and Saniya Iyappan. R Diwakaran, who has worked with Rosshan Andrrews in ‘Notebook’, ‘Mumabi Police’, ‘Evidam Swargamanu’ and ‘How Old Are You’, is the DOP of this film as well.
Jakes Bejoy is the music director.

Thakaramale Samayamale Unaru: New promo song from Mahaveeryar out

As ‘Mahaveeryar’ gears up to hit screens on July 21, the makers are busy with the final round of promotions. A new promo song got shared last day. The song titled ‘Thakaramale Samayamale Unaru’ is suny by Anand Sreeraj and KS Harisankar. It is composed and produced by Ishaan Chhabra BK Harinarayanan has written the lyrics and the song is mixed and mastered by Geoff Foster.

‘Mahaveeryar’ starring Nivin Pauly and Asif Ali as the leads promises to be a fascinating experience. From its earlier-released trailer, it looks like a genre-bending attempt. It is fantasy film with a time travel concept in it. Abrid Shine is directing the film. He has also adapted the screenplay based on a. story by Sahitya Akademi Award winner M Mukundan.

Chandru Selvaraj has handled the camera and music is composed by Ishan Chhabra. The film also stars Lal, Siddique, Shanvi Srivastava, Lalu Alex, Major Ravi, Sudheer Karamana, Mallika Sukumaran, Prajod Kalabhavan, Srikanth Murali, Padmaraj Ratheesh and many others.

Nivin’s Pauly Jr Pictures is jointly producing the film along with Indian Movie Makers.

Sivakarthikeyan’s next is Maaveeran; Promo video looks promising

Sivakarthikeyan is next teaming up with Madonne Ashwin of ‘Mandela’ fame for an action-thriller. The film has been titled ‘Maaveeran’ in Tamil. It will also be released in Telugu as ‘Mahaveerudu’.

The makers announced the project by sharing a 2-minute long video in which Sivakarthikeyan’s character is initially seen getting beaten up by a bunch of goons. He is then raised back up by strings from the shadow of a giant hand. The mysterious hand controls him like a puppet and fights all the men. When he regains his consciousness, Sivakarthikeyan shrugs off the strings and decides to fight them on his own. Though the teaser doesn’t reveal anything about the plot, it has piqued the curiosity among many.

‘Maveeran’ has music by Bharath Sankar, cinematography by Vidhu Ayyanna and editing by Philomin Raj. The film is produced by Shanthi Talkies. Details regarding the other cast members and when shoot begins are expected to be out soon.

Kesariya song from Brahmastra wins hearts; Hesham, Sid Sriram sing Malayalam and Tamil versions

The much-awaited song ‘Kesariya’ from ‘Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva’ has been released. Composed by Pritam and sung by Arijit Singh, the song has been winning hearts all over. In Malayalam, the song has been rendered by Hesham Abdul Wahab. Tamil version of the song is crooned by Sid Sriram.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, ‘Brahmastra’ is a mythology-based fantasy trilogy with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt playing the central characters named Shiva and Isha. Amitabh Bachchan essays a role named Professor Arvind Chaturvedi. While Nagarjuna will be seen as archaeologist named Ajay Vashisht, Mouni Roy’s character is named Damayanti, the antagonist. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is also said to be part of the film.

Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is backing this ambitious project, which will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages. The makers have confirmed that the film will be hitting screens worldwide on September 9, 2022.

Chup – The Revenge of an Artist: Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming Hindi film teaser grabs attention

Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming Hindi film ‘Chup: The Revenge of an Artist’ with director R Balki is gearing up for release. Last week, the makers shared its teaser which is still grabbing attention. The film, touted to as a psychological thriller, also stars Pooja Bhatt, ‘Scam 1992’ fame Shreya Dhanwanthary and Sunny Deol in major roles.

Balki has scripted the film along with Rishi Virmani and Raja Sen. The director is known for helming National award winning films like ‘Paa’ and ‘Padman’. This is the first time he is attempting a psychological thriller.

PC Sreeram, the DOP of Balki’s earlier films, was initially retained for this one as well but he later opted out due to unknown reasons. Vishal Sinha is the cinematographer now. Amit Trivedi is composing the songs and Aman Pant handles the score.

‘Chup’ is being co-produced by Gauri Shinde, R Balki and Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. The makers are expected to announce their release plans soon.

Chiyaan 61: Vikram’s next with Pa Ranjith launched

We had earlier reported about Vikram and Pa Ranjith teaming up for a new film. Tentatively titled ‘Chiyaan 61’, the project got launched last day with a grand pooja ceremony. Vikram, Pa Ranjith, the film’s composer GV Prakash Kumar, Arya, veteran actor Sivakumar, and producer KE Ganavelraja were spotted at the pooja function.

If reports are to be believed, the film is a period action thriller set in the backdrop of Karnataka’s Kolar Gold fields. It is said to be centered around miners who discover gold in the 19th century. The big-budget film is most likely to have a pan-Indian release.

Meanwhile, both Vikram and Pa Ranjith are awaiting the release of their films, ‘Cobra’ and ‘Natchathiram Nagargirathu’. While ‘Cobra’ directed by Ajay Gnanamuthi is scheduled for August 11 release, Ranjith’s film starring Dhushara, Kalidas, and Kalaiyarasan is yet to get a release date. Its promos have all grabbed attention and heightened the expectations.

Prithviraj Sukumaran, Asif Ali, Manju Warrier and Anna Ben are teaming up for Shaji Kailas’ new film titled ‘Kaapa’. The film is scripted by novelist Indugopan based on one his stories. The film has Prithviraj playing a gangster named Kotta Madhu. On the first day of shoot, the actor had shared his look in the film.

Earlier today, Prithviraj shared Kotta Madhu’s second look. The actor looks much younger in this look. He captioned it as, ‘Madhu.. before he became Kotta Madhu’.

‘Kaapa’ is touted to be an action thriller centered around gangsters in Thiruvananthapuram city. The film also stars Dileesh Pothan, Nandhu and Jagadish. It has Jomon T John as the cinematographer and Shameer Muhammed as the editor. More details regarding the project backed by Writers Union are awaited.

We had earlier reported about Nayanthara’s hit Tamil film ‘Kolamaavu Kokila’ aka ‘Ko Ko’ getting remade in Hindi as ‘Good Luck Jerry’. Janhvi Kapoor is starring in the film, which is directed by debutant Siddharth Sengupta. Produced jointly by Lyca Productions and Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions, the film is set to release directly on Disney + Hotstar on July 29.

Meanwhile, its trailer has been released online. The film also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Mita Vashisht, Neeraj Sood and Sushant Singh. ‘Kolamaavu Kokila’ directed by Nelson Dilipkumar is a heroine-centric crime comedy. The film got released in 2018 and was well received. It went on to become a box office success.

The Hindi version, ‘Good Luck Jerry’ is expected to be tweaked to suit the sensibilities of the North Indian audience. Pankaj Matta has adapted the script. The makers will be hoping to repeat the success of the Tamil version.

We had earlier reported about Arun Vijay making his web series debut with Tamil Rockerz, based on the notorious piracy group of the same name. The series is directed by Arivazhagan, who has previously made films like ‘Eeram’ and ‘Vallinam’. He has also worked with Arun Vijay in ‘Kuttram 23’ and the yet-to-be-released ‘Borrder’.

‘Tamil Rockerz’ is set for its premiere on SonyLiv on August 19. Meanwhile, the makers have released the trailer. Arun Vijay plays a cop who heads a team appointed to bust the Tamil Rockerz group as they open challenge to release pirated versions of a big-ticket film on the release day itself.

The series also stars Vani Bhojan, Iswarya.Menon, Azhagam Perumal, Subbaraj and many others. It has music scored by Vikas Badisa, cinematography by Rajasekhar and editing by Sabu.Joseph. AVM Productions is backing the series.

We had earlier reported about Malayalam filmmaker Madhav Ramadasan teaming up with Sarath Kumar for his Tamil debut. The director is known for his films like Melvilasom and Apothecary. His maiden Tamil film with Sarath Kumar has been titled ‘Aazhi’. The title and first look got launched recently on the veteran actor’s birthday. The director shared the first look in his social media handle and wrote,

Madhav Ramadasan made his debut in 2011 with ‘Apothecary’ starring Suresh Gopi and Tamil actor R Parthiban. The film won widespread critical appreciation and was also selected for screening at the Busan International Film Festival. The director followed it up with ‘Apothecary’ in 2014. The medical thriller starring Suresh Gopi, Jayasurya, Abhirami, Meera Nandan, Indrans, and Asif Ali received a Special Jury Mention at the Kerala State Awards. Actors Jayasurya and Indrans won awards at the National and State level, respectively, for their performance in the film.

Madhav Ramadasan’s last release was ‘Ilayaraja’ starring Guinness Pakru in the titular role.

Sarath Kumar meanwhile is part of films like Vijay’s ‘Varisu’, ‘Rudran’ with Raghava Lawrence, Mani Ratnam biggie ‘Ponniyin Selvan-1’ and Karthick Naren’s ‘Nirangal Moondru’.
