Asif Ali shares a note on how Mammootty inspired him to be an actor

As Mammootty completes his 50th year in cinema, many from the film industry have been congratulating him through social medias. Actor Asif Ali has shared a long note on how Mammootty inspired him to be an actor. He also mentioned about the memorable experience of working with the superstar in ‘Jawan of Vellimala’.

Asif Ali’s post reads,

50 Years of Mammookka : A flawless performer! A great human being!

What an amazing fifty years it has been. Mammooka, you’ve by all means been the face of Malayalam Cinema across the globe for the past five decades. Your dedication towards films and your incredible journey still inspires thousands of youngsters to dream of films and achieve that dream. My story was no different. Coming from a family with no cinema background or taste for films, it is by far your influence that shaped me into what I’m today.

It is magical to see how you came into Malayalam cinema and how you evolved into a phenomenal actor with your unmatched talent and hard work.

As a youth, like any other youngster in Kerala, I too had the idea of arranging classy sunglasses and posing like you. This in time turned out to be a dream of someday being on the screen as an actor. By all means it’s a true story of inspiration and pride to have had you as my mentor right from the dawn of my career.

It was one of the most blessed moments in my life to have had the opportunity to work with you in ‘Jawan of Vellimala’. I still fall short to explain the kind of learnings I took back home from you during those days. In fact, I feel that those experiences are the foundation for who I am today.

Today, I learn more than cinema from you. It is with great admiration that I observe how you excel not only in movies, but also wear the cape of a family man, a philanthropist and a socially committed individual!

Ikka, you truly are a flawless performer. But beyond that, you are a great human being!

I wish you all the success to keep exciting us with your charisma!

Mammootty also posted a seperate note thanking everyone for the wishes. He has written,

Completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from everyone. My wonderful colleagues and film fans everywhere. Thank you to each and every one of you

Talks on to make Lucifer as an 8-episode miniseries in Hindi, reveals Prithviraj

Prithviraj’s directorial debut ‘Lucifer’ is still a much-talked about film. Starring Mohanlal in the lead, the film was a huge commercial success and its second part has already been announced. Scriptwriter Murali Gopy had earlier said that ‘Lucifer’ was originally planned to be made as a web series but they later opted to do it as a feature film. They have now got another opportunity to make it in a series format.

In a recent interview, Prithviraj revealed that discussions are underway to make ‘Lucifer’ as an 8-episode miniseries in Hindi. He also added that since the producers are keen that he should direct the project, he might take it up.

Prithviraj is quoted saying,

“My writer Murali Gopy designed it and I was part of developing it. The film itself was initially conceived as a series. I’m going to break the news to you exclusively: there are discussions about making Lucifer as an 8-episode miniseries in Hindi. The challenge is for me to find the time. I’m happy with someone else making the film but they are not. So, let’s see.

Right from the beginning, we knew the story arc from the beginning till the end of the third part. Initially, we planned it as a three-part streaming series. We then made a feature film, ‘Lucifer’, out of the first season. Now, we have decided to make feature films with the original material from season two and three.”

Dulquer Salmaan pens an inspiring note about Mammootty as he completes 50 years in cinema

Malayalam superstar Mammootty is completing 50 years in the film industry. His first film ‘Anubhavangal Paalichakal’, in which he played a junior artist’s role, got released on August 6 in 1971. Fans, cinephiles and many from the film industry have written special notes to congratulate Mammootty on his remarkable feat. The best of all came from his son Dulquer Salmaan. The young star has written,

50 years of being an actor. Of dreaming big and never giving up. Still dreaming bigger. Of being better every day. Never being satiated. Of never tiring. Of forever being hungry to play the next great character. Forever striving to find the next great film. Of wanting to be known more as an actor than a megastar. Of loving cinema and the craft more than any actor I’ve met. Of inspiring millions. Of influencing generations. Of leading only by example. Of sticking to your morals and traditions irrespective of the times. Of being a stickler for quality. Of upholding relationships. Of being virtuous. Of valuing integrity. Of never taking short cuts. Of being the gold standard. Of running your own race. Of being a real life hero.

Even though you dislike these celebrations of your career milestones. 50 years of the most illustrious and glorious of careers is no small accomplishment.

Every day I count my blessings. Cause I get to see touch and hold the man outside of celluloid. And witness his life. Live under his greatness. His light. Experience the warmth and love people have for you. Hear your stories from the people who’s lives you’ve touched. I could write a book on you. But for now I’ll stop at this.

There was once a boy who’s eyes lit up when he discovered the magical world of the movies. He dreamed of being a part of it and pursued it relentlessly. And from when he got his first chance he worked tirelessly to make his mark. To make it count. For he values it. He maintains to this day he needs cinema more than cinema needs him. And no matter what heights he reaches, he makes his mountain only grow taller. Those who know him, know he’s still climbing and will never stop. That mountain of being the best actor he can possibly be.

Earlier this year in February, it was announced that Simbu and Gautham Menon would be teaming up for a new film titled ‘Nadhigalilae Neeradum Suriyan’. AR Rahman was signed as the music director and Dr Ishari K Ganesh of Vels International was supposed to produce it. However, the project seems to have been dropped now as the same team has announced a new title with a first look poster.

Titled as ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’, it promises to be a completely different from Gautham Menon’s usual works. The first look poster has Simbu in a rural getup and is nearly unrecognizable in the lean look. His unique makeover and the forest fire setting in the first look is certainly intriguing.

Gautham Menon is collaborating with writer Jeyamohan for scripting ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’. Cinematography is by ‘Lucia’ fame Siddhartha Nuni. Art director Rajeevan, lyricist Thamarai, editor Anthony and costume designer Uthara Menon are also part of the team.
