Amar Akbar Antony all set to roll

We had seen Amar Akbar Antony in Bollywood many years ago starring Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod khanna and Rishi kapoor and the film was directed by Manmohan Desai. The film was a trendsetter in Bollywood that time. Now Amar Akbar and Antony is coming to Mollywood also. But please don’t think that it is a remake of that Bollywood success into Malayalam. This will be something fresh and different from Mollywood. Yes, Mollywood is ready to welcome Amar Akbar and Antony with both hands. This film will be the directorial debut of the famous comedian and singer Nadirsha and have a great star cast that you all will love to see onscreen. They are Prithviraj, Indrajith and Jayasurya. Vedika will play the female lead after Sringaara Velan and Cousins.

Prithviraj, Indrajith and Jayasurya is coming together for a film for the second time after the blockbuster Classmates directed by Lal jose. They later worked together in Joshiey’s multi star film Twenty20,but only in a song. Now the super hit combination is all set to be back and set fire on the silver screen as Amar, Akbar and Antony. Prithviraj and Jayasurya later did films together like chocolate and robin hood. Indrajith and Prithviraj also done films together like Bachelor party and Double barrel (on post- production stage). But the three are coming together after a long time on silver screen.

Vedika had worked with Prithviraj before in Vasantha balan’s tamil film Kaviya Thalaivan which was released last year November. Vedika had also worked with Indrajith in last year’s Christmas release film Cousins. She will be with Jayasurya for the first time. Another attraction in the film is that it will have a song sung together by the three heroes of the film,Prithvi Jayasurya and Indrajith. All of them have sung songs for their earlier films like Punyalan Agarbathees, Puthiya Mukham, happy husbands, Chekavan, Urumi, Naayakan, Happy journey etc.

Nadirsha is very popular as a lyricist, singer, composer, television anchor and actor as well. The script of the film will be written by Vishnu and Vipin and it will be produced by Zakariya Thomas and Alvin Antony. The DOP of the film will be Sujith vasudev and Music director is Deepak Dev.There will be a lot of popular artists in Mollywood working in this film and the complete list will reach you very soon. They are planning to start the filming on April 14, 2015. We are wishing all the very best to the cast and crew of the film and a special wish to Nadirsha for his first step to Mollywood as a director.

Mohanlal- I V sasi combo all set to come again..?

If the reports coming in are to be believed, Mohanlal and I V Sasi is all set re-unite again after 14 years and it will be a very special one for Mollywood if the news is true and really will be something to watch out for. I.V Sasi is one of the all- time great directors of Malayalam film industry who had directed an unbelievable number of films which almost up to 130 films. He is the one who made actor like Mammootty, a super star and Mohanlal too acted in many of his films before he become the undisputed emperor of Mollywood.

It was I V Sasi who had directed Mohanlal’s evergreen classic blockbuster like Devasuram. Mohanal’s first film with I V Sasi was Ahimsa. This pair’s most of the films are super hits at box office. But their last outing was not a memorable one which was bombed at the box office. It was Sradha which got realesed in the year 2000. I V sasi also not very active in recent years and his last film was a disaster at box office which was Vellathooval.

He was down and out after he entered into the new millennium. But he tried his luck with Mammootty and did a film named Balram vs Tharadas which brought together two of his famous characters Inspector Balram and underworld king Tharadas which is a character from his film Athirathram. But the result was poor as the film was a disaster at Box office and there are also reports that he and the producer liberty Basheer developed some personal problems with Mammootty during the shoot of that film.

Anyway now he is all set to return to Mollywood with a bang as per reports. The union with Mohanlal is going to be something big for him. The new project of I V Sasi- Mohanlal team will be produced by none other than Gokulam Gopalan and a new duo will write down the screenplay of the film. Even though the news has no official confirmation, we hopes that it will happen in the near future and Malayalees really waiting for the return of the master craftsman with the complete actor.

Malayalam Cinema crawling in the beginning of 2015

After a not so good 2014, Malayalam film industry really hoped to get a good beginning in 2015. But all hopes went in vain as there is only one success in this opening month and that too not a tremendous one. There has been 14 Malayalam films released in this year January and they are Sand City, Aakashangalil, 6, at once, Perariyathavar,Ellam Chettante IshtamPole, Ammakkoru Thaarattu, Mayapuri 3D, Villege Guys, Mariyam mMukku, Mili, Picket 43,Rasam, Mashithandu.

In this 14 films only picket 43 directed by Major Ravi and starred by Prithviraj sukumaran and Javed Jeoffry ringed the bells at box office and got to success status. Even though Rajesh Pillai’s film Mili got good critical appreciation, it reached the success level when we consider the financial level of things at box office. Most number of theaters in Kerala were occupied by other language films such Vikram-Shankar team’s magnum opus film I, Vishal’s Ambala, Akshay Kumar’s Baby etc and I had collected the maximum from Kerala more than any of the Malayalam film that got released this year.

Now there are some releases coming in this February and mollywood had high hopes in these films. They are Mega star Mammootty’s Fireman, Jayasurya’s Aadu OruBheekara Jeeviyaanu, Jayaram’s 200th film of his career Sir C P, sequel of evergreen hit film samrajyam titled as Son of Alexander and Aju Varghese starrer Namsthe Bali. Apart from these Malayalam films there is also Ajith-Gautham menon team’s Tamil film Yennai Arindhal and Dhanush-K V Anand team’s Anegan also releasing in this month. Some Bollywood films also on its way to hit the screens this month.

Fireman and Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu will release on February 6. Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu is very important for Jayasurya as his last four films failed at box office. This film is the directorial debut of Script writer Midhun Manuel Thomas who penned down the script of last year’s success Om Shanti Oshana starred by Nivin Pauly and Nazriya. Jude Antony Joseph was the one who directed that film. Anyway Mollywood hoping that this February will bring good luck to it. The only fear for the industry this month is that, on February 14th World cup Cricket will start and it may keep the spectators in their houses rather in theaters.

Mohanlal fans against Jude Anthany Joseph

For past two days it seems like there is only one issue is shaking Kerala. That is Lalisom controversy that happened just after the inaugural function of national games that kick start at Trivandrum, Kerala. Mohanlal has been attacked by some people in the social medias and also from our political circle for the low quality of that program. But there many other views also coming out about that program that it was not Mohanlal’s fault at all.

Now, it seems Mohanlal got back his image with his smart and honest move of giving back the entire amount which is used to stage that show, to the government. And also Mohanlal fans once again proved that they are in fact the biggest force in Kerala when comes to unity. Even though Mohanlal had said in his letter to media and public that he had no complaints and problems with those who accused him as a cheat without knowing the real situation and facts, his fans seems to be in no mood to forgive those who made their “Lalettan” to feel pain. Mohanlal said in his letter that he was very much sad and down after hearing all those allegations when he does that program with atmost sincererity and honesty. Mohanlal fans are now going all guns blazing against those who trolled Mohanlal in the past few days.

One of the person they are going against is Director Jude Anthany Joseph who made fun of Mohanlal’s Lalisom program and band. We are not going to say or not want to say Jude is right or wrong. But it is not a healthy situation for Malayalam cinema when a man like Mohanlal is trolled by a person who works in his own fraternity. Jude has every right to voice his opinion through the social Media. But when he faces the attack from others he had to face it receive it with both hands.

We can’t blame Mohanlal fans in this matter too. Because Jude is reportedly doing a film, which will be based on the life story of Mammootty. And when he posts a status against Mohanlal on crisis time, people will really think that he will be doing it with some personal purpose or with some personal hatred. Anyway he may have done that honestly, but the situation made it worse and we hope that both Jude and Mohanlal fans will stop their war of words soon.

Mammootty offers his support to Mohanlal

Lalisom issue seems to be a never ending issue at this particular time. Because everyone thought that the issue will be over once Mohanlal handed over the Money to the government bodies which he had offered to return. He said that he never want to be a part of anything that cheats the people of Kerala and he was, he is and he will be honest with the people of Kerala whole his life. But the Government Bodies are not in a mood to accept the money from Mohanlal straight away.

They will decide whether to accept that money or not after the cabinet meeting today. Many M L A from the ruling party has the opinion that Mohanlal did not done anything wrong and it will be an insult to him if Government had taken back that money he offers to return. But sources close to Mohanlal said that Mohanlal is firm in his decision to give back the whole amount which used to stage the lalisom program on January 31st. He did not want to have any discussions with the government bodies now and he only wants to the account number to which he had to remit the money.

And many people are coming to support Mohanlal showing his honesty and integrity and the latest in this list in None other than his great friend and Colleague mega star Mammootty. Mammootty today called a press conference at Tripunithura and told to the media that he will give his full support to Mohanlal in this regard and also pleaded to the ones who still after Mohanlal that let him to do his work peacefully and stop haunting him. He said that Mohanlal is the pride of Kerala as well as India.

He is a master when comes to acting and it is our duty to provide great and peaceful atmosphere for an artist like him to go on with his mesmerizing performances which he is doing for the last 36 years. He said that the good and bad in a performance by an artist will be evaluated by Audience. He also appealed to the people that don’t diminish the glory of our national games by creating baseless controversies. Anyway Mammootty and Mohanlal once again proved that they are the role models for true friendship irrespective of all the fan war that is happening in the social medias.
