However, things did not fall in place. The producer then suggested to make the film with Nivin Pauly and Nazriya, as he was impressed by their chemistry in ‘Yuvvh’, a music album which was also directed by Alphonse.

For ‘Premam’, both Alphonse and its director Anwar Rasheed wanted to cast Dulquer Salmaan as the protagonist. Later, they went ahead with Nivin as Alphonse shares a good rapport with him. In the recent interview, the director also added that he will definitely work with Dulquer in the future.

‘Bilal’, the sequel to Mammootty’s cult gangster film ‘Big B’, was about to go on floors when the lockdown was announced. The team is hoping to begin shooting as soon as the restrictions are lifted. In ‘Bilal’, cinematography will be done by Anend C Chandran. The four-film old youngster is best known for his work in ‘Premam’. ‘Big B’ is still regarded as one of the most stylish gangster films ever made in Malayalam and Sameer Thahir’s work in it was widely appreciated. After 13 years, Anend has been entrusted with a big challenge of recreating the same magic.

On the technical side of ‘Bilal’, only music director Gopi Sunder has been retained from ‘Big B’. Actors Bala, Manoj K Jayan, Mamta Mohandas and Lena are expected to be reprising their roles.

Vikram risked his life for a particular sequence in Cobra

Vikram risked his life for a particular sequence in Cobra

Tamil superstar Vikram is well known for the extra efforts he puts in to play a character. He often experiments with his looks and goes through drastic physical transformations. In his upcoming film, ‘Cobra’, the star will be appearing in multiple getups. For a particular sequence in the film, he had taken a huge risk that amazed the whole crew.

According to director Ajay Gnanamuthu, it was an underwater sequence. Vikram had shot for the scene with his mouth closed with a cloth and his legs and hands tied. He had to swing upside down in a rope for that shot underwater. As the stunt guy could not hold his breath for long, Vikram decided to shoot this scene all by himself. It was an extremely risky shot and he sustained a nerve injury as water entered his eyes and ears. After getting primary treatment, Vikram resumed shooting for the upcoming sequences without a break.

‘Cobra’ is a much hyped film that has many big names in the cast and crew. Director Ajay’s previous two films ‘Demonte Colony’ and ‘Imaikka Nodigal’ were big hits. This upcoming film is said to be an action-thriller that is to be shot in various countries. Only 25% of portions are left to be shot which the team is hoping to wrap up as soon as the restrictions are lifted. Considering the Covid-19 scenario, it remains to be seen how shoot is possible in foreign countries.

‘Cobra’ has an elaborate star cast. ‘KGF’ fame Srinidhi Shetty plays the female lead and former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan is said to be essaying a very crucial role. KS Ravikumar, Roshan Mathew, Miya George, Mammukoya, Sarjano Khalid, Mirnalini Ravi and many others are part of the supporting cast. Academy award winner AR Rahman is composing music for the film.
