Chiyaan Vikram who had come to the Asianet Film Awards 2016, on 7th February at Angamaly, revealed that he is a hardcore fan of Mollywood Super Star Mohanlal and not only him but his wife also a big fan of Mohanlal. He said that his wife always compares his acting with that of Mohanlal’s and asks him to raise up to the level of Mohanlal as his performances are the benchmark of perfection in Indian Cinema. There Vikram revealed another long cherished wish of him as well. He said he is now eagerly waiting to do a film with Mohanlal as it was one of his dream.

Vikram who started his career acting in Malayalam films had always showed great respect and admiration for Malayalam cinema. He had acted with Mega Star Mammootty and Super Star Suresh Gopi in the early stages of his career. Dhruvam, Sainyam, Indraprastham etc are the films in which he had shared screen space with Suresh Gopi and Mammootty, But he never got the chance to act along with Mohanlal. So he said that it was really a disappointment for him to not able to act with his most favorite actor till now after being started off his career acting in Mollywood films.

According to Vikram, if someone asks him to tell the greatest actors ever he saw in Indian Cinema, he will pick Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan as according to him, they were the benchmark of perfection for him. Jude Antony Joseph is quite famous among the film lovers of Mollywood through his first film named Ohm Shanthi Oshaana which had won the state award and also due to his frequent intervention in many social issues through his official Facebook page. His maiden flick named Ohm Shanthi Oshaana was released in 2014 February and it had Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim in the lead.

Vineeth Sreeniavasn, Renji Panicker etc also played a part in that film which was a box office success. It was in fact a women centric film in which Nazriya’s character played the central character. She had won the state award as well for her acting and the film also had won state award for popular film. Now, he is coming up with his second venture almost after 2 years, and it titled as Oru Muthassi Gada.

Years back popular director Priyadarshan made a film with the title Oru Muthassi Kadha as well. Jude Antony Joseph said to media that this one will be a great entertainer which focusing on the old people’ life. He had approached many popular actresses to play the grandmother role in the film. Everybody loved the character but nobody got ready to play a grandmother on screen. They were ok to play mothers but not grandmothers. So he went in search for newcomers who can play this characters and got new faces as well who earlier not acted in any films. After some grooming of the fresh faces, the film will start rolling in the coming March.

He said that the team of Om Shanti Oshana will be in this film as well. Vineeth Sreenivasan will play a Key role along with Aju Varghese, Reni Panicker, Lalu Jose etc. Vinod Ellamppilly will be the DOP and Shan Rahman will compose the music of the film. Lijo Paul will be the editor and Sameera Saneesh will be the costume designer. The film is producing by Mukesh R Mehta under the banner of E for Entertainment. Jude said that 2 new comers will be the central characters of this film.

Action Hero Biju Collection Report – 4 Days

Action Hero Biju directed by Abrid Shine and starred by Nivin Pauly had released on last Thursday and had amassed good critical reception. The film had opened to mixed reviews from the audience but everyone is unanimous in one point that it is one of the most realistic cop stories that they ever saw on silver screen.

The film expected to make a big opening as it had released in 131 screens all over Kerala. There was a buzz that it will break Mohanlal’s Loham first day record as well. But the mixed reviews and show cancelation due to some technical errors at many centers made it only gross around 1.59 crore from its first day. As per the latest report, the film had grossed just 3.78 crore from its 4 days of run at Kerala.

After the first day in which the film had grossed 1.59 crore, from the remaining 3 days it had amassed 2.19 crore. That means the film had grossed around 72 lakhs average in the next two days. It is not big but a decent business for a realistic film which has no mass masala elements in it and for the one which got mixed response.

As per report it had got great reception from Chennai and the rest of India collection can make a big difference as well, specially, when the situation is there that Nivin Pauly had developed a good fan base at Tamil Nadu after Premam.

Vikram said that he has been a great fan of Mohanlal for years and not only him, but also his wife is a great Mohanlal admirer. Vikram said that his wife loves Mohanlal’s acting more than that of his.

Vikram said that whenever he asks his wife about his acting and the perfection about it, she says that he was good but not as good or perfect as Mohanlal. So his aim was always to reach up to the level of Mohanlal. But that is a kind of impossible task looking at the unbelievable skill and range Mohanlal has.Vikram’s wife is Malayali and she is from Kannur District of Kerala. Once he said in a media interview that once his wife told him that while looking at him from certain angles, she felt that he looks like Mohanlal and that is why she loved him. That expression has come from many including the Bollywood legend like Amitabh Bachchan himself who himself one of the best we see in India. Kollywood stars always expressed their admiration for Mohanlal and in fact popular Kollywood stars like Vijay, Suriya, Karthi, Dhanush, Vishal, etc were hardcore Mohanlal fans and now Vikram also joined that list.
